Corporate social responsibility is one of the pillars of how Wurkwel Ventures, the parent company of Office Furniture Center, operates. It includes our core values, CSR Smart Partnerships and Office Furniture Center’s dedication to charitable giving.

Our team truly treats each other like family. We believe in our employees and are committed to creating a positive atmosphere where they can thrive. To describe our work culture, we use the word “Ohana,” which is a Hawaiian word meaning a wider family of relatives, friends and colleagues. At Office Furniture Center the spirit of camaraderie goes far beyond most workplaces.

Network

Sales and business development are contact sports, and the creation and maintenance of professional networks are essential to our success. Effective brand ambassadorship is crucial to winning the networking game. So is working in partnership with business associations. Not all connections are for profit, though, as we take pride in giving back to the communities we serve with philanthropy.

As an interiors industry leader, Office Furniture Center is dedicated to the idea of Responsible Planning, which promotes budget conscious design solutions, products that support environmental sustainability, and services that help companies optimize workplace capacity and contribute to workforce well-being.

Environmental Stewardship

Our company embraces best practices in sustainability, modeling eco-efficiency within our company work environments and through design and facility services that feature eco-friendly product lines. Office Furniture Center and its 250,000 sq. ft. showroom is the Midwest’s largest resource for upcycled and refurbished premium office furniture acquired through decommissioning services. Office Furniture Center diverts more than 300 tons of material from landfills annually, while providing sustainable solutions to eco-conscious business partners. Support For Veterans

Our founder is the son of a distinguished veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars and a recipient of two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars. In honor of the service and sacrifice every service member gives, Office Furniture Center is committed to employing veterans and supporting disabled veterans.

Workforce Diversity & Economic Development

We are an inclusive company that champions diversity and equity, both in our own workforce and in the surrounding community where we strive to improve economic development through employment opportunities and by offering resources that lend financial-relief to start-up companies or nonprofits.

Charitable Giving

Each year, Office Furniture Center donates a great amount of furniture to local businesses, charities and nonprofits. Our annual Creating a Better Tomorrow Office Furniture Redesign Giveaway allows our customers to nominate local charities that they feel are worthy of a refreshed office.
